Why it works for an incentive

Known as a land of exception, the French Riviera is one of the most fascinating regions there is, and Monaco is the name that does most of the work when you announce the prize. It is also compact: everything the group needs is within a short transfer, which matters more than it sounds.

A three-day shape

Day one. Arrive into Nice Côte d’Azur, met and transferred to the hotel in style — by helicopter, if the budget allows, which turns the transfer itself into part of the trip. Check in, then a guided tour of the old town, the Palace and the Cathedral, with dinner in an upscale restaurant on Casino Square.

Day two. Breakfast, then walk to the port and board a private catamaran for an afternoon of live music sailing the Riviera, with optional jet skiing for those who want it. Free time on return, then dinner at a restaurant the locals favour rather than one the guidebooks do.

Day three. Breakfast, then discover the region by vintage car — a rally from Monaco to Èze village and on to Bordighera, with lunch served by the sea on Bordighera’s promenade. A farewell dinner overlooking Monaco Port.

What to watch

Grand Prix week is a different proposition entirely — prices multiply and availability disappears a year out. For an incentive, the shoulder months either side are better value and a more relaxed trip.
